Our last club fixture for the season is always our Candlelight game where we start bowling in the light but finish in the dark. A rainbow appeared during the game and luckily we only had a few spots of rain. Afterwards we enjoyed jacket potatoes and fruit crumble in the clubhouse.

We enjoyed a memorable afternoon of fun and laughter when the Bedwellty Park Bowls Club visited us on their tour. We had a brilliant time both on the green and in the clubhouse after the game. The Welsh team were accompanied by a dragon, a mouse, a caterpillar and even a unicorn! Before they left we were treated to some impressive singing!

Congratulations to Linda, Diane and Claire! They played at the Bowls England National Women’s Triples Championship at Leamington Spa, representing Berkshire. They won against teams from Northamptonshire and Norfolk to reach the last 16 of the national competition. Their run unfortunately came to an end on the second day against a strong Kent triple. All three played fantastically well, each making a significant contribution to a magnificent team performance. A wonderful achievement and something to be very proud of – well done Linda, Diane and Claire!

Afterwards, players and guests enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea in the clubhouse, along with a game of ‘Heads & Tails’ and a raffle. Congratulations to the Captain’s team on their win! A huge thank you to everyone who played, supported the event or helped to make it such a brilliant afternoon.
